Micropiles are a vertical construction element that us used to resist tensile or compressive forces. Micropiles are typically used to remediate existing structures or as a low cost alternative to conventional piles in new construction. Micropiles can be added to existing foundations to increase their capacity to support additions to the structure, resist dynamic loading as a part of a seismic retrofit, or to help elevate excessive settlement of the structure. AVAR’s Micropile installation equipment is compact enough to fit into the low overhead or tight spaces typically not accessible by conventional piling equipment.
